Amid reports of 20 to 30 layoffs from The Wall Street Journal newsroom that recently claimed John Seeley, Rick Stine was also cut from the staff at the end of last month. Stine was most recently the senior editor overseeing innovation, focused on creating new products and features. During a tenure that exceeded 30 years, Stine also served as senior editor for the Americas and as managing editor at Dow Jones Newswires.
Additionally, Elizabeth Holmes has been promoted to senior style writer at the WSJ. She will write a forthcoming column for the Personal Journal section, covering style marketing and consumer habits, and will also continue to contribute fashion industry content to WSJ, the Off-Duty section and WSJ. Magazine. Holmes has covered style for the paper since 2011 and previously covered the 2008 presidential election from the Washington bureau, as well as travel and other topics from the New York office.
