Reuters has named Tomasz Janowski and John Pickering as top news editors for the Americas. Janowski will assume his new role in the New York offices come mid-August, while Pickering starts immediately. Janowski currently serves as the acting editor overseeing Asian economics coverage for Reuters in Tokyo. This news comes days after the news service announced the promotion of seven U.S. correspondents. Janowksi has been with Reuters since 1993, first as a correspondent and economic editor in Poland, and later covering Central and Eastern European economics. He began serving as an editor covering Japanese economics and politics in 2011. Before Reuters, Pickering was previously at Bloomberg News since 1992, most recently a senior editor and bankruptcy team leader on its U.S. legal team.
