Halifax Media purchased the Telegram & Gazette on May 22 from Boston Globe owner John Henry, with layoffs and some staff departures announced yesterday. The list of laid off staffers numbers approximately 20 and includes: online director Mark Henderson, Statehouse reporter John Monahan, digital editor Noah Bombard, web reporter Linda Bock, photo editor Chris Christo and religion writer Bronislaus B. Kush. In addition, T&G top editor Leah Lamson and investigative reporter Shaun Sutner have both resigned. For top news from the only daily newspaper in Worcester, Massachusetts, follow the T&G on Twitter. To show your support for those laid off yesterday, send messages with #SupporttheTelegramStaff.
The great Shaun Sutner @ssutner is leaving us (voluntarily!) to work for Tech Target. PS He said I could break this. Arrivederci, Shaun.

Big news: Leah Lamson, editor and 36-year T&G employee, is leaving. Fun fact: She hired me.

I appreciate the texts, emails, DMs and calls and I know journalists have a job to do but I really need to hold fast for 24 hrs to cool down
