SAs the warm weather finally settles in and outdoor parties, barbecues and dinners fill up the calendar, summer eating becomes a focus. Here at inVocus, we selected five food-related blogs from the Vocus media database to highlight for the summer pitching season. If you’re looking for blogs to pitch for the hot months, here are a few to get the season started:

Amanda’s Cookin’ – Summer isn’t anything without refreshing drinks and sweet desserts. Amanda’s Cookin’ is chock-full of the delectable and thirst-quenching, from iced tea recipes to salads to zucchini muffins. The blog features a page just for recipes as well as pages dedicated specifically to breakfast, lunch and dinner recipes.

A Taste of Home Cooking – Flatbread pizzas and burgers on Fridays, ribs, and grilled barbecue chicken sandwiches all make summer eating a taste bud delight. Tagged as “your daily dose of comfort food,” this blog has a number of recipes to fit seasonal cravings.

Barbecue Master – The barbecue master in question is Cyndi Allison, who has been grilling, smoking and barbecuing for more than 35 years. And what’s summer without the chance to fire up the grill? She provides tips on glove wear, while also featuring products like frozen veggie fries, which she fired up on the grill and reviewed. She gives how-to’s for a number of recipes, including grilling boneless chicken tenders, pineapple and even ham.

Coconut & Lime – Although this blog provides original recipes all year long, just the name Coconut & Lime connotes summer sunshine. Blogger Rachel Rappaport is the author of multiple cookbooks and provides plenty of yummy summer recipes, from strawberry drinks to a summer crab and corn frittata. She accepts products for review and is most interested in raw ingredients, food or drink products, kitchen equipment, tools and gadgets.

Deep South Dish – Full of great ideas for outdoor get-togethers with family and friends, this blog features fare that perfectly fits the season, from sour cream cucumber and onion salad to Hawaiian chicken. It’s not often that the word diet goes along with “Deep South” food, but the blogger also features recipes for those watching their waists, such as diet sweet tea. She also features cooking tips and product tips, and provides an organized page with her recipes categorized.
