In an effort to accommodate the needs of its readers, Jet magazine will transition to a digital application in June 2014. The Chicago-based publication was founded in 1951 and is aimed at the African-American audience focusing on news and features, including Black history affecting contemporary living. Additionally, Kyra Kyles has been promoted to digital editorial director at Jet. She previously served as digital managing editor since July 2013. She joined Jet as a senior writer in November 2011.
