Summer is only a month away, so you might be considering a vacation! Whether you’re thinking of staying local, domestic, or going international, there are so many great places out there that the list never seems to end. So how do you decide where the best vacation destinations are? At least on the national level, let’s check out what people on social are saying about their favorite vacation spots for the summer.
According to content volume from the past month, it seems like these five cities in the U.S are at the top of the list as destination hot spots.
Honestly, this isn’t too surprising and I think I can explain why in three words: Sun, Beaches and Nightlife. All of these locations are known for at least two of the three and certainly have some fun attractions to offer. And while you might find yourself leaning more towards another city, just from volume alone it looks like Los Angeles is in the lead. One reason for why L.A. might be so popular? It’s got to be the weather.

As it turns out, the majority of content is coming from Blog and News/MSM sources. I actually expected there to be more coverage from Facebook or Twitter given how powerful word of mouth can be, but I guess people are seeking information from third parties as well.

Who knows? Instead of L.A or Las Vegas, you might find yourself exploring the streets of Barcelona or relaxing by a lakefront in Australia.

I think this is the beauty of vacations. Everyone’s experience will be different and there is no “right” place to go. Some say that vacation is a state of mind, and I think that as long as you’re enjoying yourself, that’s a vacation, no matter where you might be.
