Christmas is right around the corner and many magazines were looking for holiday gift ideas months ago.  But blogs are another matter. With techie gifts being the rage, here are five tech and gadget-related blogs run by moms and dads who are gearing up for the holiday season:

Digital Mom Blog: Reviewing Wal-Mart phone plans for her daughter and online learning tools like ABC Mouse are as common as features that include “20 Thanksgiving Books.” Blogger Molly Thornberg said she is looking predominantly for “tech gifts for moms, toddlers and school-aged kids” for the holiday season.

HighTechDad Blog: Although blogger Michael Sheehan doesn’t do a specific Christmas gift guide, he does product reviews on a regular basis. “I typically try to focus on how technology integrates within the family, that is sort of the niche that I go after,” he said in an email interview. “It seems like tablets are once again the really hot gadget (especially with Apple launching two iPads now). Also, new game consoles (PS and Xbox) will be a hot one I believe.” Sheehan also features articles on social media for parents, as well as cloud computing and other various technologies. He also showcases how-to and fix-it posts and car reviews, all from a dad’s point of view.

Scraps of My Geek Life: From Lego Star Wars to social media, this blog focuses on parenthood, technology and mobile devices. “I’m always looking for family friendly lifestyle tech/gadgets that will improve our lives,” said blogger Michele McGraw.

Technology for Moms: Last Christmas, blogger Sarah Kimmel reviewed a video game, while also addressing the appropriate age to get your child a cell phone. Generally, she focuses on wireless devices, high-tech gadgets and computer software designed to help busy mothers. Other stories range from posts on how to keep your child safe online to a review of the Samsung Galaxy S4 while on a trip to Disneyland with her family.

Little Tech Girl: From Plants & Zombies for Android to home security, blogger Kris Cain covers a variety of topics dealing in computer technology, mobile gadgets and parenthood. If last Christmas is any indicator, topics dealing in computers and electronics, as well as online charity, would be a hit with her blog.
