I stumbled upon this site in the most organic of ways, someone shared it with me on Google+. SocialStatistics.com, which is still in beta, provides a list of the top 100 users on Google+ based on number of followers. As of this writing, Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s CEO and founder, leads the pack with nearly as many followers as Google’s two founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin combined.
But SocialStatistics.com does more than just provide you with a top 100 list. The site measures statistics on over 50,000 Google+ users and provides stats on the top 5 Google+ Movers & Shakers, the Hottest Google+ posts, the breakdown of Google+ users by gender, and also provides personal statistics for your Google+ account.
What caught my eye the most was the most popular posts page. Here you can sort the most popular public posts on Google+ by most recent, the past hour, last 24 hours or in the last week. You can also sort by the number of +1’s or shares a post has received. This page is a great way to get a pulse of what’s happening on this new social network and reshare top content with your own circles.
What other Google+ tools have you used to help find people to follow?
