Bert Hill covers technology companies that have a significant local operation in the Ottawa area. He does not do product reviews unless it is a “horse-race” type of story where a company has revealed the latest technology, setting itself above its competitors. Hill says he is interested in stories with “hard dollars.” For instance, if a company is announcing a deal, he wants to know that “this deal will be worth this much money.”
He accepts pitches via e-mail but rarely uses pictures or attachments. It is best to contact him either late morning or early afternoon. Since he frequently works from home, he is not always available by phone during office hours.
