Renata Stiehl is interested in receiving press releases or story ideas that will appeal to her local audience. Pitches should feature something viewers “can take advantage of — say, grant money or a new service or something that’s going to be really driven towards our community,” Stiehl says. Pitches should also explain how a product or service would benefit viewers, rather than simply promote something new.
She prefers press releases that present the most important information at the top. “Don’t make me read through a page worth of stuff before I decide that it’s not something worth covering,” she says. Pitch her by e-mail. “Be thorough with your contact information,” Stiehl says. She accepts high-resolution images and attachments. Her daily deadlines are 5 and 10 p.m.
