Dave Bevington usually covers politics and other news of the day on “Open Debate.” The call-in show is an “open phones, open topics” program where the listener “decides what we talk about,” Bevington says. “Lot of times it’s just local issues [and] pet peeves people have,” he adds.
Press releases may relate to “anything that people would be interested in,” Bevington says. Pitch him by e-mail; he accepts sound-clip attachments. Follow-up calls are not necessary. “If I want to do something, I’ll call them back,” he says.
“Open Debate” airs weekdays from 1 to 3 p.m. on WMVO-AM, an Adult Standards music and News/Talk radio station serving the Mt. Vernon, Ohio area.
