Ben Davis co-hosts and produces “The Ben and Patty Show,” which targets women 25 to 54 in southeast South Dakota, southwest Minnesota and northwest Iowa. “We try to remain real local,” he says, “but if there’s something that has national interest, we’re certainly interested in that also.”
Press releases should be a “one pager with a big bullet point on the front that lets us know what the topic is,” Davis says. “If that catches us, then we go on through the body of the press release. And we’re interested in all sorts of topics—whatever is interesting to that demographic, from high quality of life issues to weird stories, to household cleansers, to pets … just a variety.” Pitch him by e-mail; allow plenty of lead time. A follow-up call is encouraged.
“The Ben and Patty Show” airs weekdays from 6 to 10 a.m. CDT on KMXC-FM, a Hot Adult Contemporary music station serving the Sioux Falls, S.D. area.
