Jen Murphy is responsible for the travel and feature sections of Food & Wine. She also researches and reports on style, entertainment, wellness and kitchens for the publication. She is interested in learning about new trendy chefs, restaurants and wine regions. Murphy says she is looking for significant, fascinating personalities in the food and wine scene. She encourages those interested in pitching her to first become familiar with the publication. “It’s good if they have an idea of the sections of the magazine,” she says. “If they’re pitching things for certain themes of certain months – if they’ve asked for an editorial calendar in advance and know what we’re working on – that always helps.”
